Founded in 2000 by Tobin Cooley, P.E., C.T.S., Listen Acoustics, Inc. is a leading provider of acoustical consulting and design of professional audio and video systems around the west. With six professionals in Portland and Seattle, our mission is to create exceptional acoustical environments through careful application of science and technology with keen attention to detail. We are constantly seeking ways to conserve and specify reused/recycled and sustainably harvested products in our acoustical applications. Utilizing the latest computer-aided design and simulation systems, combined with extensive practical experience, Listen Acoustics creates optimized designs, which meet client performance requirements while staying on budget. Listen Acoustics is a registered as an Emerging Small Business (ESB) in the State of Oregon (reg. #3977).
Listen Acoustics provides the highest level of creativity in creating designs which enhance the visual aesthetic by maximizing acoustical performance and privacy while achieving sustainability goals. Our resume for innovative and complex office projects is extensive. We have recently provided acoustical and AV design services for “The World’s Leading Software Manufacturer” in Redmond, WA’s worldwide office and conference room standards, Intel, Nike, Nautilus and Mentor Graphics’ World Headquarters, and Invitrogen Laboratories Labs and World Headquarters. As a result of our recent work for these firms, we have gained powerful new research and strategies for effective office and performance space design. Also, Listen Acoustics was the acoustical engineering firm for the Gerding Theater at the Armory / Portland Center Stage in downtown Portland, Oregon which is the first building on the National Register of Historic Places and the first performing arts center in the US to achieve LEED Platinum status.
